Dear puppy and Trainers, Supporters, Family and Friends,
Change is a funny thing. It can be hard but at the same time freeing. It is always hard losing something dear to you. Sometimes we lose things due to illness or death; sometimes someone forgets to latch the gate and our prized companion slips away; sometimes one simply looks for adventure and fulfillment elsewhere. And, in some cases, we lose things because no one wants them anymore.
It is bittersweet that the time has come for IPTC with its many trials and tons of fond memories, to slip away.. The International puppy and Trainer Contest (now Conference) was the vision of boy and pup, patrick chees, a/k/a Nipper. Before patrick passed away in 2004, our tribe made a commitment to him that we would continue to provide a safe, caring, and honorable place for puppies, their Trainers, and those who love their energy to gather, to learn, to compete and to just romp. A place to be themselves with those who understand and appreciate them. Our promise to patrick was that IPTC would be around as long as the community wanted it. We have kept that promise.
It would have been gratifying if IPTC (iPup) had gone out with the bash that was to be its ten year anniversary at iPup X slated for May 2010. However, the community has spoken and, with only token support, we have cancelled the event.
So to all of the pups and to all of you who love the puppies, know that we will always look forward to rubbing noses and sniffing butts with you at the next gathering: wherever that may be. Thanks to all of you who have recognized that puppies (and their Trainers) embody a spirit so real that it begs to be petted.
The gift you have given us, and to boy patrick’s legacy, over these many years has been a tribute we will cherish for many years to come.
In the Tribe, Master Roy Texas Leather Tribe Owner and Producer of International puppy and Trainer Conference |
